The monument to Nicholas Shchors was restored with gypsum.
In Kiev, the artists have restored the monument to the chief of the division of the red army Nikolai Shchors on the Boulevard of Taras Shevchenko, which was damaged in March.
“This monument is not included in the list of objects to be de-communization, as it is a cultural heritage site and one of the few equestrian monuments of Ukraine”, – said the artists who participated in the restoration of the monument.
According to them, for safe installation, carried out preparatory work in order not to damage the monument. Preparations for the restoration of the monument lasted two weeks.
The leg of a horse, on which sits Shchors, sculpted from plaster. The action took place in the night from 26 to 27 September.
“The leg of the horse, restored by our group, is a metaphor that represents the successful steps of our country towards prosperity. State that remembers the past, makes the right conclusions and believe in a future. It is made in white color, which symbolizes peace, unity and faith. A horseshoe caused the state emblem of Ukraine”, – said the artists.
