Holidaymakers warned of the danger.
In the Japanese city of Kyoto has issued a warning to tourists after a series of attacks monkeys for visitors to popular locations.
“On Wednesday a woman of 60 years who visited a Buddhist temple chion-in in Kyoto, was bitten by a monkey. Police say it happened after the baby monkey was attracted by the umbrella that woman. After that, the larger the monkey is likely one of the parents of a baby – bitten woman in the leg,” – said in the message.
It is also noted that the grounds of this temple are bitten by monkeys recently injured three visitors.
Government hands out leaflets to tourists in Japanese and other languages with a warning not to approach wild monkeys to feed them or take photos.
