Ancestors of elephants lived on Earth approximately 11-13 million years ago.
In 2014, a farmer who lives near Toulouse, discovered on its territory a well-preserved skull of an ancient animal, but decided to hide it because he did not want to attract attention.
However, not knowing what to do with it, the farmer still made contact with Toulouse Museum, whose experts determined that the skull belongs to the Iberian mastodon, reports ScienceAlert.
