The time has come…Oh’s theories. Fan theories we all love so much. And which sometimes indeed is a certain ground.
On may 8 we presented you the first official trailer of science fiction Denis Villeneuve’s “blade Runner 2049” (Blade Runner 2049). For those who missed it, recall an important caveat: this film is a sequel to the cult films Ridley Scott’s “blade Runner” (1982). In both films, played by Harrison Ford, and Scott himself is one of the producers for the new film.
Besides, we all know that Ridley Scott and the father of the franchise on xenomorph. He directed an original science fiction horror “Alien”, the prequel to this story “Prometheus” and the upcoming “Alien: Covenant.” And here in the trailer “Running…” sarcopenia fans found a direct reference to Prometheus!
Next, watching the hands, it all looks like a focus.
In 2012 there was a theory that the films “Prometheus” and “blade Runner” belongs to the movie universe. In a special edition of “Prometheus” for the UK this film was found “Easter egg” is a pretty good size. There was a hidden text written by character Peter Weyland (the old man, played by guy Pearce in Prometheus), which implies that once the mentor of Peter was the tycoon who created humanoid Replicants. This letter could go on about the Eldon tyrelle, the head of the Tyrell Corporation from “blade Runner”, which, among other things, engaged in the creation of synthetic humanoids known as Replicants. Here is a screenshot confirming the existence of this document:
Most interestingly, the duration of the film “blade Runner” was 2019-th year. The events of Prometheus occur in the year 2089. That is, if it is two films in one “universe”, then really it turns out that young Peter Weyland could communicate with the old Tyrell.
Interestingly, in both films, and “blade Runner 2049”, and “Alien: the Covenant” is out this year, and in the case of the sequel to “Running…” premiere was postponed from January 2018 in the fall of 2017. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe… But it is quite possible that these films will be connected more than we might think. In the end, the two franchises have something in common. Connects them figure Ridley Scott, and there, and there are the characters-androids (in one case they are called Replicants, in other – derivatives).
And, actually, in the trailer for “blade Runner 2049” we can see a figure, very much like alien Engineer, with a race which we were introduced in “Prometheus”. In the trailer, this date falls on a 15 second:
