Almost. If there were, how would this look It we might call – Freddavis? Bennyroger?
In fact, the rumors that one of the images with which It can intimidate the kids, maybe Freddy from “Nightmare on elm street” appeared a while ago, when it became clear that, first, the duration of the film will be moved from the 50s to the 80s years of the last century, and secondly, in the new film adaptation, It will NOT take on the appearance of the wolf Man and the Mummy, as it was in the novel by Stephen king.
These decisions were interrelated. Stephen king described the children of the 1950s who watched old horror films about the then famous Universal monsters. Naturally, they were afraid of these monsters. And naturally It took on the form of these monsters. But the children of the 1980s, watched another movie, and other creatures. They looked, in particular, “a Nightmare on elm street” about Freddy Krueger.
After the release of the teaser trailer frame above gave rise to the theory that It can take the form of a Werewolf from the movie “Wolf” or from the movie “Howl” – fortunately, both came out in the 80s. another theory about this frame – It is in this stage turns into Freddy, growing on the fingers the blade of his famous gloves.
The transformation of It in Freddy would be an interesting move. And quite likely, given that the rights to the franchise “a Nightmare on elm street” belong to the same studios that created “It” – New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.
It seemed even more likely given the fact that Warner Bros. found the opportunity to show Freddie in the trailer for the new Spielberg film “the First player to get ready”, and later it turned out that in the same trailer was hidden and a huge amount of “Easter egg”, referring viewers to “It”. In the end we’re here “fly”, isn’t it?
Moreover, those of you who have seen “It” in the movie, probably noticed in the film of fatty reference to the series KNOW. Here it is:

And actually Pennywise really COULD make the image of Freddy in one of the scenes. This was confirmed by none other than himself the film’s Director Andres Mosketti:
We seriously pondered this, but I was not very interesting to insert Freddy Krueger. I love this story and love the way Stephen king in General, drew a child of the 50s. He is truly brought [in your novel] all of the universal Monsters as part of the repertoire of embodiments [It] because it was afraid of children. It would be natural to try to recreate something similar in the 80-ies, but I really was not crazy enough to bring the story of Freddy Krueger. I think it would be too many meta-references to the projects of New Line Cinema. It would distract viewers, due to certain reasons it did not seem right to me.
So, the confirmation is received. It COULD take the form of Kruger. Now comes the time to debate about how right or wrong was Moscetti, when he abandoned the idea. On the one hand, this kind of “cameo” would be really a distraction. On the other hand, the idea that It could stand as a kind of Arch-Evil behind the villains of horror movies, makes me excited.
Well, at least we saw It-the Leper and It Is Pennywise. And it was awesome!
