Relic cold spot resulted from the collision of our Universe with another bubble.
British, Chilean, Spanish and American astronomers said that the relic cold spot is an artifact of the collision of the observed world with a parallel universe. A study published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
“Perhaps most exciting explanation (low temperature spots) is that the cold spot resulted from the collision of our Universe with another bubble,” — said co-author Professor Tom Shanks.
In the study, scientists have denied the point of view according to which the relic cold spot supervoid is a giant empty space (without galaxies and clusters) between the galactic filaments.
To such conclusions the authors came analyzing data on approximately three thousand galaxies, located in the heart relic of the cold spot.
Relic cold spot is a region in the constellation of Eridanus, located approximately three billion light-years from the Sun. The temperature of the region, in cross section reaching 1.8 billion light-years on 0,00015 degrees Celsius lower than the average relic thermal radiation (minus 270,43 degrees Celsius).
