On the eve of Monaco hosted the annual ceremony of the prestigious international Laureus World Sports Awards.
Athlete of the year by the Academy “Laureus” in the fourth time became the Jamaican Sprinter Usain Bolt, ahead of the basketball players Stephen Curry and LeBron James, the British runner Mo Farah, Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and the first racket of the world Andy Murray.
Women in the same category won by American gymnast Simone Bilz, which at the 2016 Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro managed to win four gold medals. Bails ahead of German tennis player Angelique Kerber, British cyclist Laura Trott, American runner Allyson Felix, American swimmer Katie Ledecky and Jamaican Sprinter Elaine Thompson.
