The President of the biathlon Federation of Ukraine announced the list of athletes that will be preparing for the upcoming season.
The main news was the presence of four Olympic Champions, which at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi managed to win the relay race. Sisters Semerenko, Julia Jim and Olena Pidhrushna next year in Pyeongchang (South Korea) will try to repeat its historic success.
The national team of Ukraine for the 2017-2018 season:
Women: Valya Semerenko, Vita Semerenko, Olena Pidhrushna, Jim, Julia, Anastasia Merkushina Irina Varvynets, Olga Abramova
Men: Sergei Semenov, Dmitry Pidruchny, Brendan, Vladimir Semakov, Alexander Fat, Artem Tishchenko, Ruslan Tkalenko.
In the Olympic bid, there was no place Yana Bondar, Nadegda Belkin, Yulia Zhuravok, Dotsenko Andriy and Vitaliy Kilchitska, who last season had a conflict with the coach.
Men preparations for next season begin may 11 and for the first time women will gather on may 15. Both teams first training camp will hold in Tenerife (Spain).
We will remind, in last season’s Ukrainian athletes won four medals (0-1-3), and Julia Jim entered the top 10 of the standings of the world Cup.
