This year’s Nobel prize has not received any woman.
The owners of all the awards this year were men, not counting the peace prize, which was divided about a hundred humanitarian organizations.
“Last year, 11 men received the Nobel prize. …But then again, the Nobel judges found women worthy of awards. There is an old saying: twice is coincidence, three is a trend”, – stated in the material.
In recent times the achievements of women was noted by the Nobel Committee in 2015 year. Then the prize winners were writer Svetlana Alexievich and Chinese chemist Tu Yu. They were joined by eight men and one organization.
Since 2000, the Nobel prize became 189 men (87% of the total number of winners), 8 (4%) and 19 women (9%).
And in the entire history of the Nobel prize since 1901, women have been awarded only 49 times.
We will remind, the Nobel prize for literature was awarded to the writer with Japanese ancestry.
