The publishing house that gave us “Spawn” and “Walking dead” company, Image Comics announced a new series called “Root of bitterness” (Bitter Root), and now we can admire on the cover of the first issue.
Create a series of writers David Walker, Chuck brown and artist Sanford Greene. The latter two were already working together, releasing one-shot “Rotten Apple” for Dark Horse and a series for LINE Webtoon 1000.
Known synopsis of the new offspring of these dudes:
The story is set in 1920-ies in the Renaissance of Harlem. The main characters will be members of the new York family, Sanjari. Once the greatest hunter of monsters worldwide, now under the pressure of past tragedies they have lost their power and are forced to look on helplessly, as the unimaginable evil destroys humanity.
David Walker argue that
The “root of bitterness” will be different from all the comic books that people have ever seen. We mix action and horror with unique characters to tell an epic story about family, Sanjari and the sacrifice that they are willing to make for the sake of humanity.
Well, let’s see what these guys will come out eventually. The cover of the first issue looks quite dark, but stylish. And the name may be a reference to the line from the Holy Scriptures:
Watch out that someone does not have the grace of God and no bitter root grows, does not hurt, and that they were not defiled by many.

The series “Root of bitterness” will start in spring 2018.
