Such a large celestial body to the planet is still not coming.
A huge asteroid flew by Florence September 1 at 7 million kilometers from Earth, said NASA, assuring that the grounds for concern and will not be until at least 2500 years.
It is noted that so close to the Ground such a large asteroid (diameter of a celestial body of 4.4 km) is not yet approached.
Florence was opened on 2 March 1981 by American astronomer Shelte Bass in the Australian Observatory Siding spring. The asteroid was named after the British nurse and social activist Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) became a national heroine thanks to the revolution in the care of the wounded.
The last time it flew near the Ground in 1890.
A few days celestial body can be seen even in small telescopes in the constellation of the southern Fish, the Capricorn, Aquarius and Dolphin.
Scientists intend to take this opportunity to explore the heavenly body with the help of radar stations, Goldstone in California and Arecibo in Puerto Rico.
If a celestial object this size collided with the Earth, the consequences would have been global in scope.
