Manual Volkswagen decided to start serial production of the electric van, created on motives of concept car I. D. Buzz. About it reports a press-service of the German mark.
The premiere of the prototype took place in early 2017 at the Detroit auto show. As noted by the representatives of the automaker, following the debut of the company has received a lot of emails asking “is sure to produce this car.”
Volkswagen I. D. Buzz is built on an innovative platform MEB, developed by the German concern especially for vehicles with electric units. In the bottom of the machine is mounted a set of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 111 kWh.
The concept car I. D. Buzz is manned by two electric motors, which together give 369 HP. To 100 km/h four-wheel drive minivan accelerates in five seconds, and its maximum speed was 160 km per hour. A power reserve of more than 430 kilometers.
The company noted that the electric car will receive the Autonomous control system of the third level. This car will be able to accelerate and brake, and maneuver in the stream. The driver must always be ready to take over.
The electric car will be produced in 2022. The new product will be part of the plan Together Strategy 2025, the aim of which is to achieve the sales volumes in the 2-3 million electric cars annually by 2025. The plan provides for 30 new electric cars, new technology batteries and a General paradigm shift the use of private transport.
