Ukraine is likely to receive in 2018, only one tranche from the International monetary Fund, which may come in March-April.
This opinion was expressed by Director of economic and social programs Razumkov Center Basil yurchishin.
“Ukraine is changing in the direction that I see the international financial institutions, especially the IMF, not so fast, not so consistently as if those institutions wanted. At least the differences between the Ukrainian government and representation of international financial institutions in the views on the pace and direction of reform are observed. Therefore, in the best case, somewhere in March-April we may get a single tranche. But after the summer is unlikely that international institutions will Fund us, because before the election (still – ed.) not more than six months, as this is the pre-election period”, – said the expert.
According to Yurchishin, tranche, which Ukraine can get in the amount of 1-1,5 billion., doesn’t make much sense.
At the same time, in his opinion, Ukraine should continue cooperation with the IMF.
“But cooperation should increasingly become a non-financial nature. Because of hope for these financial resources to distract the authorities and the public on what reforms actually occur and how they are relevant”, – concluded the expert.
