Babin believes that the checkpoint “Chaplynka” should contain.
Representation of the President in Russia-annexed Crimea supporting the reduction of checkpoints on the Peninsula from three to two. This was announced by permanent presidential representative in Crimea Borys Babin at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on foreign Affairs.
“Why do we have two checkpoints – Kalanchak and Chaplynka – a distance of several kilometers one from the other only because the Russians did? I think that on the basis of national security, there is the understanding of the power structures, there must be a single checkpoint,” he said.
The Director of the Department of Crimea of the Ministry of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Sergey Mokrenyuk reported that the project of arrangement of checkpoints in Crimea is currently at the Ministry of economic development and trade.
“On the proposal the elimination of KPVV “Chaplynka” – there is some concern that if we are narrowing the bandwidth of entry and exit, there can be provocations from the Russian side”, – he said.
At the same time, Babin believes that the checkpoint “Chaplynka” should be closed.
