Two-time world champion during the race was hit by the snowmobile operator.
The double world champion in ski racing and two-time world Cup winner in the overall standings (2013/14 2015/16) Marin jonsrud Sundby was shot down by a snowmobile, which carries operators during a marathon race “Birkebeinerrennet” in Norway.
The incident occurred at the 33rd kilometer of the 54-kilometer track. 32-year-old escaped serious injury and loudly cursed after the fall, continued the contest, eventually finishing first.
As later told the athlete, during the collision, he only broke a stick. The organizers apologized to Norwegian, fully acknowledging guilt in “accident” the driver of the snowmobile.
