EBRD called for the appointment of the head of the NBU Lavrenchuk.
The European Bank for reconstruction and development in favour of the appointment of the head of the National Bank Volodymyr Lavrenchuk.
On it informs Agency Reuters.
Managing Director of the EBRD in the countries of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Francis Malige in comments to Reuters expressed support for Vladimir Lavrenchuk (head of Raiffeisen Bank Aval), if confirmed information about his possible appointment to the post of head of the NBU.
Lavrenchuk also supports the ex-Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who called him a “good guy”.
Yatsenyuk said that the national Bank should be headed by a professional banker, not a politician.
Recently Lavrenchuk has publicly stated that he is ready to lead the NBU, “when the time comes”.
Currently Lavrenchuk is considered one of the main contenders for the position of head of the NBU.
Among other candidates considered by the head of Board of Ukreximbank Alexander Gritsenko, owner of TA Tihipko, head of the Council of the National Association of Ukrainian banks and senior Advisor of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) Roman Shpek.
