How to wash hands.
Acting Minister of health Suprun told the Ukrainians how to properly wash hands, and why most antiseptics do not always cope with the task.

“Ways of spreading the germs a lot. The most versatile and safe way to protect yourself from them is to wash hands thoroughly. Today is world hand hygiene day. We recall the clean hands, not because we believe that nobody knows about it. We remember because we often forget about the simple things that are really important to health, ” – wrote the Minister.
As stressed by Ulyana Suprun, it is important not just to wash your hands, be sure to use soap, because without this tool, the cleaning will be ineffective. Soap and foam help to wash away dirt and germs from the skin, while popular antiseptic sprays do not eliminate the dirt and can cause resistance in some bacteria. Also Suprun described the cases when hand washing is not necessary.
The official advice always wash hands in the following cases:
after returning home from the street
before, during and after cooking
before and after patient care
after coughing, sneezing, blowing nose
after using the toilet
after contact with animals
“Hand hygiene is exclusively concerned with all, but most people who save our lives – doctors and all health providers. Despite the availability of modern methods of disinfection, the risk of infection during a stay in a medical facility remain high today,” – said acting Minister.
“Clean hands protect us from disease and reduce the need for antibiotic treatment. Wash your hands thoroughly and be healthy!” – added Suprun.
