The architectural division of the South Korean company Samsung SAMOO Architects&Engineers – did not participate in the design of the airport in Simferopol in Crimea, despite the victory in the relevant tender.
The reason, according to the Ukrainian foreign Ministry, became “the political sensitivity of the project”.
“In 2015, SAMOO Architects&Engineers have participated and won in international tender for implementation of the project, about the political sensitivity which at that time information was not. Subsequently, SAMOO Architects&Engineers refused to participate in the project”, – said in response.
On the website of the Russian company ASAP Pro – construction contractor – South Korea’s Samoo Architects&Engineers is listed as the developer of the architectural concept of the airport.
We will remind, the airport “Simferopol,” Crimean Railways, Federal freight company and a number of transport companies fell under sanctions from the Ukrainian side.
