Scientists have found a more habitable planet.
Scientists have found planets where the chance for origination of life is higher than on Earth. We are talking about the system of exoplanets TRAPPIST-1. The opening belongs to experts from Harvard University and Harvard-Smithsonian center for astrophysics.
Scientists have determined the chances of transfer of organic molecules from one planet to another. Planets in TRAPPIST-1, which was discovered last year, removed from each other by a distance that is ten times less than the distance of Mars from Earth. Due to this, the easier the process of migration of organic molecules from one planet to another, which in turn contributes to the emergence of living organisms from nonliving matter.
Recall that in September last year, images taken with ground-based telescopes confirmed that the exoplanet TRAPPIST-1d, is similar in size to Earth and located in the “zone of life” really exists.
Scientists have studied the spectrum of the rays of the star TRAPPIST-1, passed through their aerial shell on the way to the Ground, and found that they represent a rocky planet like our own, and found hints of the presence of water, oxygen and carbon dioxide in their atmosphere.
But previously, scientists said, the planet Proxima-B, which was called the twin of Earth that was uninhabitable. Experts from NASA have discovered that planets orbiting red dwarf stars and are in the habitable zone, deprived of water and oxygen.
Researchers have found that exoplanets that are at a sufficient distance from the parent star, the atmosphere is “blown” by the high-energy radiation. To a greater extent of a celestial body is losing oxygen, which eliminates the presence of liquid water on their surface.
