Ukrainian market of crossovers change leaders.
SUV is the most popular car segment in Ukraine. Moreover, in Ukraine, a larger share of the world (54%).
What changes have occurred in the domestic SUV market over the last year.
The increase in the share of SUVs on the Ukrainian market is outpacing the overall growth of the market. Compared to 7-months of 2016 the market in 2017, the overall market grew by almost 32%. And the share of SUVs on the market increased from 49% to almost 54% in July of this year. And the sales of SUV in our country, compared to the 2016 rose by almost 76%.
The most numerous in SUV segment is the mid – size-SUV. Compared to the previous year, it rose by almost 76%. And 85% C-SUV belongs to the medium-price segment (Volume), 13% – budget crossovers (Low Cost), and 2% expensive (Premium). Of these three price segments, in comparison with last year, the highest growth was demonstrated, the middle-price segment is more than 80%.
In the segment C-SUV Low Cost as last year, the most popular model is Renault Duster. He is absolute leader, as sales of the nearest competitor less at times. In second place today is actually 2 models of Chery. This – Tiggo 3 and Tiggo 5. At the end of 7 months of 2017 the gap between them in 1 car. And last year, the second was regular Chery Tiggo, Tiggo 5 is the third. Among the budget SUV is a major change from 2016. Renault Duster bezagovorochno was in the lead a year earlier.
Mid-SUV in the past year and the current leader is also not changed is KIA Sportage. But if in the first half of 2016 he was literally “neck and neck” with the Toyota RAV4, according to the results of 7 months of 2017, the gap is almost in 2 times.
And on the 3rd position – the Hyundai Tucson. In 2016 he was fifth and behind the Mazda CX-5 and Nissan Qashqai. However, Qashqai and now is breathing in the back of the Korean. But the CX-5 at the end of 7 months of 2017 at the 7th position.
Among premium SUVs also have changes. At the end of 7 months of 2017 leader BMW X1. But in the past year, this place was the Land Rover Evoque. Now the Evoque the second and the third position is the Audi Q3. However, Evoque sales compared with last year fell. And it is possible that it will soon catch up with the new Mercedes-Benz GLA. The sales of this model are noticeably growing.
