The militants of the DNR terrorist organization shelled observers of the Special monitoring mission of the OSCE in the area of the Cossack.About it today LIGA.net reported in a press-service of the mission.
“At 11:28 Mar 07 SMM patrol, composed of six members of the mission in two armoured vehicles drove up to the complex, located on the Eastern edge of the settlement of Cossack (36 km North‑East of Mariupol – ed.)”, – noted in press service.
The OSCE said that when the patrol was at a distance of about 100 m from the complex, the gunman, standing a few meters from the observers, motioned them to stop.
“The convoy stopped, and observers saw eight fighters at one of the buildings on site. The three of them headed towards the patrol. 30-40 meters away from the team of the OSCE one of the men aggressively motioned for observers, so they left the area. At the same time he fired three shots into the air from a machine gun (AK‑47) and then another six shots into the ground a few meters from where he stood and looked in the direction of the observers,” – said the press service.
When the SMM team immediately turned around, leaving a place, then heard four more shots and one turn of small arms.
The OSCE returned to their base in Mariupol and was notified of this incident by the Joint center for control and coordination.
