Italy’s President dissolved Parliament

The greatest support for the party led by a comedian.

The President of Italy Sergio Mattarella on Thursday, December 28, dissolved the Parliament, thus launching an early election. According to the decree, new parliamentary elections must be held no later than April 2018.

Meanwhile, an informal agreement between the Italian parties provides for the election on March 4. The final date must be approved by the Council of Ministers, led by Paolo Gentiloni.

At the final press conference, the Prime Minister Gentiloni said that Italy resumed movement after the most serious post-war crisis.

The greatest support, according to polls, enjoys the populist party “five star Movement” led by comedian and blogger Beppe Grillo (28%), in second place – the ruling in Italy’s Democratic party (23%).
