Losing teeth after menopause women face an increased risk of premature death, as established dentists.
They found that tooth loss due to gum disease – an alarming signal of serious health problems.
Researchers from the University Buffalo watched health 57 000 post menopausal women for 7 years. It turned out that suffering from gum disease women died on 12% more in a given period of observation. Those who lost all teeth, risked much stronger – they have the probability of death increased by as much as 17%. Researchers believe gum disease is an alarming signal of other problems in the body, especially chronic disorders such as type II diabetes and heart disease.
It is known that Smoking and with overweight people, overlapping a sweet, often face problems of gum disease and life-threatening diseases. But it also could be explained by the fact that the increase in the concentration of bacteria in the oral cavity, in reality provokes more serious health problems, as the bacteria penetrate through the gums into the bloodstream and spread throughout the body, as stress researchers.
