As reported by Georgian media, citing data from the interior Ministry, the rescue service received information that two foreign nationals came under an avalanche near the resort Tetnuldi, after which the scene arrived rescuers.
“Despite difficult weather conditions, rescuers were able to locate trapped under an avalanche. One person was extracted alive. His condition is stable. Also found the body of a second person,” – said the interior Ministry.
The victim was 46-year-old citizen of Germany. At the time of the avalanche he and his companion rode snowboards.
