More than three dozen people have received defeat in the explosion of an oil heater in the basement of a condominium in the heart of new York city’s Tribeca, which resulted in a significant release of carbon monoxide and toxic substances.

Most of the victims suffered minor injuries, they were assisted on the spot. Some of them were taken to the hospital.
According to local officials, the explosion occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the basement of the 12-story building on Murray street, after which there was a fire. Rescue services arrived quickly on the scene of the incident. While firefighters have recorded “high indicators of carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide – ed.) around the building.”
Tenants in the building were evacuated. Rescue services are working to determine the level of carbon monoxide in the adjacent buildings. Law enforcement authorities conducting the investigation.
