The current situation in the Donbas suits the Kremlin, the analyst believes.
Russian scientist, Professor, head of the expert group “OWL” and a member of the public Council of the House of free Russia in Kiev, Mikhail Savva believes that the Kremlin is not interested in the scenario of escalation of the situation in the Donbas.
He stated this in an interview with “Obozrevatel”.
“Analyze the actions of the Kremlin from the point of view of common sense is not easy. Objectively, the Kremlin is not interested in escalation scenarios. The war with Ukraine has ceased to increase the political capital of the regime. Russian propaganda lies about this war is already beginning to cause rejection even supporters of Putin. And external risks continue Donbas adventure is too high. The Kremlin is beneficial to preserve this the type of conflict of Abkhazia, South Ossetia or Transnistria. But keep in mind that the less rational the actions of the Russian regime,” said Sawa.
In his words, to “push” the so-called DND and LNR in Ukraine with veto power on key policy decisions did not work.
