With the changes in the bill on pension reform, Ukrainians will be able to buy an unlimited amount of insurance that they need for retirement. If the pension reform, which was recently adopted by the deputies, there was a limit on what can be purchased no more than two years experience, that in the final version this restriction is removed. This was stated by Deputy Minister of social policy of Ukraine Mykola Shambir.
“If a person 60 years of experience is 24 years 9 months, for example, the person may complete the required period and to retire at the age when people will finish this experience. Second option: if the person does not work and lacks experience in some quantity, it is possible to purchase to pay for periods when no contributions”, – said the Deputy Minister of social policy.
The minimum insurance period from 2018 to retirement at age 60 is 25 years. After 2018, the requirement regarding minimum insurance period will increase annually by 1 year. 10 years later, in 2018, the final requirement for a pension to 35 years insurance experience.
“Today, the minimum premium is 704 hryvnia per month – a 22% per cent of the minimum salary of 3,200 hryvnia, but to re-buy the experience, this amount is multiplied by two,” said Shambir.
Thus one year of insurance “will cost” about 17 thousand hryvnias.
