Catalonia has started the process of secession from Spain.
The Catalan government gave the official start of the campaign for independence from Spain. This was announced on the evening of 14 September.
The deputies of the “Socialist party of Catalonia” and “people’s party” left the hall before the vote, announcing that they will appeal the decision. To do this, the MPs plan to appeal to the constitutional court to declare the violation of their rights.
Spain’s constitutional court suspended the action taken by the regional Parliament of Catalonia law on the procedure of the separation region. The public Prosecutor’s office of Spain is conducting an investigation in respect of more than 700 mayors from holding a referendum on Catalan independence.
