Australian scientists have found a rare fish near the Northern coast of Tasmania.
The last time this species seen in 1873 in the coral sea off the coast of Papua New Guinea.
Rare fish size is about 40 inches, her invisible scales, nostrils and gills.
“This little fish looks weird because the mouth is actually located in the lower part of the animal so that, when looking from the side you can’t see the eyes, nose, gills or mouth. It looks like the fish rear end,” said the expedition leader, Tim O’hara.
According to the scientist, this is the first case when the fish noticed in the territorial waters of Australia. Kind of relates to find, and its taxonomic position is not yet described.
