Rolls was born in 1953 in the Ural mountains. Initially worked as a photojournalist in the local press, and in 1985 moved to Moscow, becoming head of the illustration Department of a major newspaper “Soviet Russia”. In this position, he experienced all the hardships and privations of the life of the journalist: “Your existence as a person is not accepted in principle. Sick or in love, the family breaks up or has no money for life — a newspaper is not interested. Is the current number. The principle is simple do — or-die”.
In 1990, Rolls left, so to speak, on courses of improvement of qualification in Germany. Yes so there and remained. Began to be published in prominent European publications, has won a prestigious photo contest, and then undertook and for writing.
