Toyota expects a ten-fold increase Mirai production to 2025.
Japanese automaker Toyota expects the automotive hydrogen fuel cells will be equal in price to a hybrid by 2025.
As noted by Naomichi House, General Manager of business planning Toyota, by 2020, the company will establish production of a new generation of hydrogen fuel that will lead to substantial progress in powertrains of this type. In addition, Toyota hopes to ten times to increase the volume of production of Toyota Mirai to 2025, whereas today produces 3,000 cars per year. Due to this decision, the company will be able to sell hydrogen cars for the price of models with a hybrid power plant.
It is worth mentioning that currently in the EU hybrid sedan Toyota Prius can be purchased at a price three times lower than the sedan Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cells.
