The President of Moldova Igor Dodon banned from the military of Moldova to participate in international military exercises Rapid Trident-2017, which will be held on the territory of Ukraine.
“Military of Moldova did not take part in military exercises outside the country”, – he wrote on his page in Facebook.
He has also published the official correspondence with the Deputy Minister of national defense Gheorghe Galbura.
As reported by NewsMaker , a representative of the defense Minister of Moldova in late August, told the President about the participation in international exercises 57 the Moldovan military. He also noted that the soldiers involved in the exercise since 1996 in the framework of Partnership for peace. All financial and organizational matters are borne by the host party.
In response, the Dodon noted that, according to the Moldovan legislation, permission to participate in the exercise should give the head of state, but he did not give such orders.
He demanded that all the preparations for the exercise was canceled, and organizers Rapid Trident announced that Nazaria Moldova will not participate in the events.
Recall that Rapid Trident-2017 will be held in early September in the Lviv region. It is expected that they will involve over 2.5 thousand military personnel from Ukraine and 14 countries of the partners.
