In Britain said that in the spring of intelligence prevented seven terrorist attacks
Counterintelligence service of great Britain MI5 currently conducts more than 500 investigations of suspected terrorist activity, told reporters on Tuesday the head of the organization, Andrew Parker.
He added that during the first seven months of the year, the secret service prevented seven terrorist attacks.
“Currently we are conducting more than 500 investigations that involve about 3 individuals, presumably related to the extremist activities in one way or another,” said Parker reporters in London.
According to him, over the last four years in the UK were prevented about 20 terrorist attacks.
“Over the last seven months we, in collaboration with the police have thwarted seven terrorist plots Islamists”, he said.
In 2017, the UK was committed five attacks: four in London and one in Manchester. A number of criminals who committed them were under police surveillance before, Parker said.
Recall, the police cordoned off the area around Angel tube station in East London because someone had left a suspicious parcel, the station itself is closed.
