The EU sees no alternative to the Minsk agreements

The EU Ambassador to Ukraine assured that Brussels will continue to support full implementation of Minsk.

The European Union will continue to support full implementation of the Minsk agreements, despite the fact that any progress on de-escalation in the Donbass has long been not observed. In this, the Ukrainian authorities have assured the head of the EU delegation in Ukraine Hugh Mingarelli.

“We will continue to support full implementation of the Minsk agreements. While we understand the frustration associated with the lack of significant progress, do so,” he said.

Mingarelli stressed that he did not know other options as “today” except the Minsk agreements.

“And so we are committed to support their full implementation,” the diplomat said, commenting on the statement of interior Minister Arsen Avakov that the Minsk agreement was “dead and need a new agreement.”
