Hawaiian for “house of the Sun” — MT, located in the eponymous national Park, always had a great interest for tourists, is starting to charge money for the visit. This decision was made because of the desire to limit the number of tourists visiting the mountain to prevent accidents associated with the flea market.
As reported by the authorities of the Park, the mountain top fell victim to its own popularity — too many tourists, too many cars. In this regard, with each machine, not counting the entrance ticket price of 20 dollars will be charged an additional 1.5 dollars for the right to climb to the top of the mountain in the period from 3 to 7 am.
Besides, despite the fact that the top of the mountain climb only 16% of tourists 40% of the calls of rescuers is coming from this minority. Park authorities believe that the need to pay 1.5 dollar will help reduce the number of tourists and, consequently, to reduce the number of accidents.
