UN reports large casualties among the civilian population of Afghanistan

It is noted that almost one in three killed Afghan child.

As a result of opposition Islamist Taliban and government troops in Afghanistan have been killed or injured 11418 civilians in 2016.

According to reports, this is a record figure since 2009, when the UN began keeping this statistic.

So, the victims of the Afghan conflict in 2016 steel 3498 civilians, 7920 injured. Almost every third victim is a child. In comparison with the year 2015 the number of people affected by conflict increased by three percent.

The authors of the report note that the actual numbers of victims of the conflict in Afghanistan could be even higher because access to many areas of this country is difficult.
