Environmental experts have called the most clean beaches of Europe

More than 85% of European coasts meet the highest quality standards.

The cleanest is water on the beaches of the five countries. So, the highest rating for the cleanliness of the water got almost all the beaches of Monaco, Cyprus, Malta, Greece and Austria.

It is noted that more than 85% of the beaches of Europe, which were evaluated by the experts, meet the highest quality standards. In water were not found harmful to humans and the environment pollutants and impurities in sewage.

At the same time, according to the report, the minimum standards correspond to 96% of the coast countries. In five countries the quality of water is recognized as excellent by almost all the beaches: Luxembourg (100%), Cyprus (99%), Malta (99%), Greece (97%) and Austria (95%).

In addition, the number of coasts of the poor condition of the water was reduced in 2016 from 383 to 318, amounting to 1.5% of the total number of beaches. Most such places were discovered in Italy, France and Spain.
