Ukrainian, the play received the prestigious award in Germany

“An environmental Ballad” got the highest award of the festival – 5 thousand euros.

In may, Ukraine became the first honorary guest of the prestigious German theatre festival Heidelberger Stückemarkt.

Germany was represented by the theater projects from Ukrainian Directors, playwrights, performers who are in the forefront of the actual experimental theatre.

One of the most striking events of the festival was the award of a young Ukrainian playwright Olga, Matupi. For his new play, “an Environmental Ballad” she’s got the highest award of the festival – five thousand Euros.

In addition, the plays also presented the Kiev theatre “Golden Gate”, the Lviv theatre for young people, the “DAKH” theatre. Another project which has attracted interest from the festival audience was offered a Director and performer Anton Romanov. He devoted his share of the annexation of the Crimea (the Novels was born in Crimea), that is the current tragic relationship of Ukraine and Russia. The current project “Where is the East?” by Alik Sardaryan and Natalia Vorozhbit – monologues about the war in Donbass also called strong emotions.

According to the curator of the Ukrainian Pavlo Arie, local theater have to offer Europe painful issues of our present, identify those problems which require solution.
