The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) informed about payment by company Kyivstar fine in the amount of 21.3 million UAH in the case of “per second billing”. The head of AMKU Yury Terentyev said in Facebook.
AMC has decided to impose a fine on the mobile operator 14 Dec 2017. “The operator in their communication about pricing terms used three types of claims, two of which it was noted that billing is “per second”. In fact this statement is false – the cost of the full minutes of the conversation were written off in the first second of the conversation,” explained the Committee.
Kyivstar appealed to the court.
Failure to pay a fine leads to a penalty in the amount of 1.5% per day of delay from the amount of the fine (or 319, 6 thousand UAH. per day), the Court ordered to freeze the sanction before the court decision on the merits of the dispute.
A similar trial is taking place now between AMCU and lifecell. In September 2017, the Committee fined the operator of 19 million UAH.
