The fire Department in Magrez sulla Strada del Vino, Italy, designed by bergmeisterwolf architects Studio. The backdrop for the new building was a sheer rock wall that stretches along the famous wine road. Three large caves located deep in the mountains associated intersecting tunnel, are the interiors of the station. Two of them are used for maintenance of fire trucks, the third for administrative work.
A meter away from the mountain at an angle corresponding to the mountainside, a black concrete wall. Three volumes, integrated into a concrete wall, decorate the entrances to the caves and function both as protection and as architectural elements, reflecting the internal structure of the building.
As material for the construction was selected as the concrete is durable, reliable and powerful. A dark color achieved through the addition of a solution of beech coal dust, which made the concrete similar to burnt wood.
