The TFR in 3 years adopted a statement on the persecution of Chechen and his family for complaining about Putin

Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Chechnya, three years later, began checking the statement of the inhabitant of the village of Kenkhi Ramazan Jamaldinov, who was prosecuted after publishing a series of online video message to President Vladimir Putin complaining of the arbitrariness of officials. It is reported by the “Committee against torture”.

Zalaldinov appealed for help to human rights defenders in April 2017. He said that after the references to Putin were persecuted. First Zalaldinov and his family received threats from police officers. Then, on 12 may 2016, his house in the village of Kenkhi was burned by unknown people in masks. According to the wife Zalaldinov Nasirat, in the night from 12 to 13 may 2016 police took her and daughters in OMVD Russia on Karaiskou district of the Republic. There in respect of them used physical and psychological violence to force them to affect Zalaldinov and force him to delete the video message. As told Nasirat, then her daughters brought the night to the border of Chechnya and Dagestan, left there on the road without money and warm clothes, saying that they have no home anymore.

24 may 2016 Chairman of the “Committee against torture” Igor Kalyapin sent to the investigative Department of the TFR in Chechnya crime report for all the described facts. The investigator Adlan Lepiev has refused to register the application properly. He referred to the fact that the alleged arguments about violence will be tested in a certain part of “other checks”, it does not specify which one.

This year, activists managed to access the test materials for obscure disappearance of Ramazan Zalaldinov. This test was initiated after media reports that Zalaldinov disappeared from their village in November 2016 and supposedly no one knew about his whereabouts. At the same time it became clear that the investigators did not verify the fact of the burning of the house Zalaldinov and violence to his family. Then human rights activists have filed a complaint against the answer of the investigator Levieva from 2016, which, in fact, was the refusal of the inspection itself.

The judge, which was a complaint of human rights defenders, dismissed the complaint, but lawyers “Committee against torture” plan to challenge this decision in appeal instance.
