The son of ex-owner of Uralkali’s Rybolovlev will participate in the elections of the President of Uruguay

Son of billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev (former owner of “BRIC”), co-owner of English soccer club Sunderland Juan Sartori intends to participate in the election of the President of Uruguay. Reported by Forbes.

According to the newspaper, Sartori intends to run for the conservative National party (also known as the “White party”). But before that he needs to win the primaries, which will be held June 30. Sartori now have five competitors. According to local media, Sartori subjected to “constant attack” from competitors. In particular, opponents have criticized his proposals to create 100 thousand jobs (lack of specificity) and to distribute free medicines to pensioners and holders of social benefits (supposedly it can worsen an already difficult situation with drug trafficking, including that made from commercial medicines). Representatives Sartori has managed to threaten the opponents with the complaint for defamation and insults, which will be served if the attacks and criticisms will not stop.

To Juan Sartori, the upcoming elections will be the first experience in politics. Prior to that, he did not occupy state positions, but proved himself as a successful businessman. A native of Montevideo, he was educated at Harvard and at the faculty of Economics of the University of Lausanne (HEC Lausanne), where he met the daughter of Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, Ekaterina. In 2003, 22-year-old Sartori was created in Geneva management company Union Capital Group. In 2008 he sold the team managers of the company, the assets under management of which was estimated at $ 1 billion, and focused on agro-business.

Billionaire Rybolovlev, according to sources aware of the ambitions of the son-in-law, but considers this a private matter Sartori, the campaign sponsor and not any other way it is not involved.
