The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the decision to withdraw the biometric data of foreign citizens is better than the introduction of a visa regime.
During the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada Klimkin said that the visa regime with Russia would create a big problem.
The Minister recalled that at the meeting of the NSDC adopted a system that provides for the removal of biometric data of foreigners will allow to monitor movement on the territory of Ukraine.
“This system will be implemented gradually, stage by stage… And the usual introduction of visas will not give us the effect we seek” – he stressed.
According to him, this will create “big challenges” that can be used by Russia as a provocation.
Klimkin also noted that Russia could conduct a conscious policy on the restrictions for Ukrainian citizens in the occupied territories in the Crimea move on the territory of Ukraine.
“Therefore, on the basis of detailed analysis it was decided. It is supported by our friends and partners,” he added.
