Ukrainian border guards on may 24, was not allowed to Kharkov Russian actress Elena Nikolaevna for her visit to the occupied Crimea. She says she doesn’t remember when the last time you came to the Peninsula.

Russian actress Elena Yakovleva went to Kharkov to parents and brother. She reported about it to Agency of RBC, commenting on the ban of the Ukrainian side to enter Ukraine.

“I am now in the area of border control. Won’t let me in the country, waiting to send back to Moscow. I was driving to my parents, brother and other relatives who live in Kharkov,” she said.

The actress added that the reason for the refusal of entry to Ukraine was a visit it annexed Crimea in 2015-2016, but she could not recall exactly when she came to the Peninsula.

“I don’t know when they left the law and became prohibited. When I was last time in Crimea, I don’t remember,” she said.

On may 24 the Ukrainian border guards are not allowed to Kharkov Yakovlev, who came with the show. She was denied entry into the country for three years because of the performances in the annexed Crimea.

Russia annexed Crimea after the illegal referendum on 16 March 2014. The annexation of Crimea by Russia is not recognised by Ukraine and most countries of the world. In the moment between mainland Ukraine and the Crimea there is an access control regime, and Kiev de facto controls the Peninsula.

In connection with the military aggression of Russia in Ukraine has banned the broadcasting of some films and serials of Russian production, as well as entry to selected artists for their “actions contrary to the interests of Ukraine”. As of November 2016, the SBU has banned entry to the territory of Ukraine 140 Russian cultural figures and representatives of show-business.
