Tennis in Ukrainian: Tsurenko stopped in the semi-finals in Hertogenbosch

The second racket of Ukraine Lesya Tsurenko could not for the first time in his career to reach the final on the grass tournament.

At the semifinal stage “Ricoh Open” Tsurenko competed with the first racket of Estonia Anette Kontaveit. Tennis players held the second official match in September last year in the semifinals of the tournament on hard courts in Guangzhou Ukrainian athlete won in two sets (6:4, 6:2).

At the start of the match, Tsurenko was close to the break but missed their chances. In the next game Kontaveit and implemented earned triple break point. To return his serve to the end of the first set Tsurenko could not.

Second set Tsurenko started with the jerk 3:0. In the middle of the set, the Ukrainian lost to error and allowed Contavam back in the game. Tennis players reached the tie-break, where Tsurenko no chance of the opponent not left – Lesya has won seven draws in a row and continued to fight for the final.

In the deciding set, the key was the sixth game – Tsurenko with the score 2:3 did not hold his serve and Kontaveit has played so confidently that from Lesja there was no chance to get back in the game.

Thanks to his successful performance in Hertogenbosch, Lesya Tsurenko approached to update a personal record in the WTA rankings and is entrenched in top 40.
