TASS: the trials of hypersonic missile “Zircon” will be held until the end of 2019 in the White sea

 

Regular tests of new hypersonic anti-ship missiles “Zircon” will be held on the sea polygon of the Northern fleet before the end of 2019. It is reported TASS citing a source in power structures Severo-the Western Federal district.

“Start “Zircon” is supposed to run from the White sea to the end of the year,” said the source.

Earlier media, citing a source said that the Russian hypersonic missile “Zircon” during trials reached a speed eight times the speed of sound. This model is designed to engage ships. It will be equipped with submarines of the new generation nuclear submarines of the fifth generation of class “Husky” and the heavy nuclear missile cruiser “Peter the Great”.
