Russia’s Ambassador to NATO Alexander Grushko said on 1 June in Brussels that Moscow is concerned about the deployment of military forces of the Alliance in the Baltic States and Poland.
He noted that Russia would respond to such actions of the Alliance.
“NATO is building a new situation in military security, which we cannot ignore, so we have to think how to use our own military means,” − said Grushko.
He did not specify what measures Russia might take, saying only that the “movement of NATO will not remain unanswered from the standpoint of military planning”.
Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin called the controversial NATO plans to increase military spending, while the Alliance itself declared its desire to improve relations with Russia.
