Onishchenko was going for the presidency

Escaped the politician believes that it will compete with Poroshenko.

Disgraced MP Oleksandr Onishchenko, who fled from Ukraine, intends to run for President in 2019. He stated this on Wednesday, 13th September, in an interview with The Washington Times.

To a journalist’s question, is it true that Onishchenko will participate in the presidential race, the Deputy responded positively.
“Yes, I decided to run,” he said.

Escaped the politician believes that will be able to compete with the incumbent President Petro Poroshenko.

“Poroshenko sees me as a strong political and economic rival. Therefore, the first aim was to deprive me of the opposition’s financial resources and to force me to leave his native country”, – says Onishchenko.

Onishchenko also said that close to the people in power wanted to give his company.

Note, Onishchenko suspected of “forming a criminal organization to seize money obtained from the sale of natural gas produced in the framework of agreements on joint activities with the largest Ukrainian gas extracting company Ukrhazvydobuvannia.”
