Russia banned when you register the name of the child to use numbers, ranks, positions, and obscene words. This is stated in the law adopted by the state Duma in the third final reading.
The law makes amendments to the Family code of the Russian Federation, according to which the name of the child is not allowed to use digits, alphanumeric symbols, numerals, symbols and non-letters characters (except hyphen), and also swear words, instructions on positions and titles.
The document also allows to give children the name of the father, mother or a hyphenated surname. It is noted that the sequence of names of father and mother in the formation of double last names from full-blood brothers and sisters cannot be changed.
