Media reported about the secret supply of oil from Venezuela

Venezuela is secretly exports abroad millions of barrels of oil, according to Bloomberg. According to the Agency, delivery go unnoticed due to the fact that Caracas disables installed on oil tankers transponders that transmit their location. The Venezuelan raw materials, in particular, gets “Rosneft”. The Russian company denied its involvement in the supply.

As found by Bloomberg, for the first 11 days of November, Venezuela was uploaded of 10.86 million barrels of crude oil. This is more than twice the amount netpostback for the same period in October. About half of the raw material was shipped to the ships, disable their transponders. They carried out deliveries to China and India.

According to Bloomberg, one belonging to Venezuela tankers Dragon (sailing under the flag of Liberia) has shipped 2 million barrels of oil under the contract with Rosneft. Now the tanker is near Venezuela, although the latter received GPS signal indicated that the vessel shall be off the coast of France. In “Rosneft” told Bloomberg that the company and its “daughter” RTSA not hired their court in this supply chain. Rosneft stated that it is working in Venezuela in the framework of contracts signed before the imposition of U.S. sanctions, and complies with all the norms of international law.

Company Dynacom Tankers Management, vladeasa tanker Dragon, says that from January 2019 none of its vessels were not involved in contracts with organizations, placed under restrictions. The company also noted that it has never violated the terms of any U.S. sanctions. Information about supposedly disabled the transponders are neither “Rosneft” nor Dynacom has not commented.

Bloomberg said that because of U.S. sanctions oil production in Venezuela in September reached 644 thousand barrels per day, falling to the lowest in 16 years. Washington imposed restrictions led to a reduction in cash is “extremely necessary” for the regime of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Earlier media wrote that because of U.S. sanctions on Venezuelan state oil and gas state company PDVSA in four times increased deliveries of oil to Cuba.

In March, the US administration has warned foreign companies working in the field of oil trade and refining, that they should cease direct, indirect or barter for the purchase of raw materials from Venezuela. However, a month later, the Agency Reuters with reference to sources and documents reported that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro receives money from sales of Venezuelan oil via Rosneft in an attempt to circumvent U.S. sanctions. According to him, PDVSA is redirecting the account from the sale of oil “Rosneft”, which in turn transfers the money to PDVSA at a discount to the sales price that “gives you the opportunity to avoid the standard term completing oil transactions constituting from 30 to 90 days, and later receives the full amount from the buyer”.

In response, Rosneft said that they intend to contact the police, as the Agency “engaged in the creation and dissemination of deliberate misinformation, the legalization of rumours in the interests of customers, invents informational reasons with the aim of harming the Russian economy, Russian companies and the Russian state”, – said in a statement. The company stressed that “in fact, these steps are informational sabotage.” Reuters eventually corrected the material on purchases of Venezuelan oil, indicating that it has no information on payments for the alleged transactions.
